Wow, Jan Josef Liefers ist momentan als Aufmacher auf der Website der New York Times zu sehen. In dem Artikel «Rock Explains Life Under Communism» geht es um seine «Soundtrack meiner Kindheit»-Tour:
The shows combine the music of the era with projections of photographs and videos from the former East Germany and audio clips of leaders like Erich Honecker and Walter Ulbricht explaining the official line. But most of all it is his autobiographical stories that hold the evening together, or “my little dose of life,” as Mr. Liefers called it, “hoping that it contains almost everything that’s important to understand the country.”

Aber ist Silly nicht etwas zu kitschig?
@STP1910: Das vermag ich nicht zu beurteilen. Kann aber durchaus gut nachvollziehen, dass für Liefers (und sicher auch für viele andere, die das Lied damals in der DDR gehört hatten) bestimmte Erinnerungen damit verbunden sind.
